Louis Karelse is pronounced dead, the cause--murder. With many enemies, there are many suspects, including his brother-in-law, Huub. Huub's right-hand man, Joachim, does what he needs to protect his boss. Suspicion also points to Hubb's unstable son, Björn. Iris tries to suppress her feelings for Willem and concentrate on making her marriage work, but the reality of her actions soon haunts her.
