The name Jack's legacy comes from from my dad, who is Jack, known as Jack.
He passed away in the mid eighties, early eighties from cancer, and it was always his dream to have the pizza place.
And when he moved us out to the country, we moved out to Stockbridge, bo ught a little nine hole golf course and he put pizza place in that.
So we grew up with pizza and golf all of our life.
And when we decided to open this place, So I sit around the table with my daughter and we're like trying to figure out what we're going to call the place.
And I said, Yo u know, pizza and golf is my dad's legacy to us.
So it just kind of came Jack's legacy just kind of came out from that.
So we decided to open I retired from the Air Force in 2013.
I worked on the golf course for a few years after that.
Still wanted to get into pizza.
I knew that that was in our An d opportunity came our golf course up in Michigan sold, and my father in law actually picked up all of the restaurant equipment for us.
And it was something we had been thinking about doing.
So it just kind of fit.
So all the equipment, the oven, the mixers, the guitars from the dough storage, all the tables and chairs that we have here, those all came from Michigan, So the the mixture in the oven my dad bought in 1975 ish, you know, within a year of that when they opened the pizza place.
So they're all, you know, almost 50 years old, still running strong because they built stuff really quality back in the day.
So my potential dream for this facility, pr obably down in size because there's nowhere really to expand, which is to be a little busier, serve more people, make a few more pizzas, try to get golf, go a little more.
We've got an indoor simulato for people in the winter, just to keep their game going, keep their swing loose so that they're ready to go back on the golf course as early as they so our indoor They're one of the best in the industry for simulators, but it gives you all the data as far as your if you know how to correct that and you're hitting a bad shot and you can fix it and hit another shot and see im that you're fixing that problem and you swing, it's a real quick, easy way to kind of see what you're doing.
But we also have multiple golf courses you can play in real time hidden golf ball int It's instantaneous.
Once you hit Pretty realistic and accurate, in my opinion, is accurate to within four or five yards what you're hitting on the golf So when I play here, I'm hit the same same clubs for the distances.
And here as I do when I'm on the golf course, the pitch is on the menu.
We've got a few of them that are kind of So we get the Mickey special, which is my mom's favorite, So it's pepperoni, ham, mushroom, green pepper, onion and bacon.
It's just an easy thing.
If that's you can just say, give me And then the people that are We've got the Hawaiian whole and one he's got a supreme slice, which is slice and golf.
So the founder's fav So pepperoni, mushroom, that's me.
And then the rest of them is just build your own.
So our menu got 11 toppings.
You ju So if you don't want everything that's on a mickey's, You can just order pepperoni, ham, mushroom, yo whatever it might be.
What it's saying, working for my dad is fun, but also i But, you know, you live with him.
So, like, I see him all the time and see him that works at the house.
So it's like I'm constantly seeing the same people, but it's still fun and I like it.
And he but also not like to chill.
So right now I think I was I don't think that I'll work here long term.
I could see myself doing that maybe, but right now I'm I'm I'd for sure, like come back and stuff.
So the employees we have here mostly I say mostly, but there's really only 3 to 4 of us that are family.
The others that work with us, that are just like workers, local.
My kid that runs my us He's doing a bang up job on the ovens, just cooking and p because our ovens are not conveyor there that come.
And so when you put the pizza in there, You got to move it around.
You're going to spin it.
You're going to make sure it's And it's kind of master that.
So another person working ou she's been doing a great job.
And Rhona, we just brought on and she's doing a really good job waiting tables and some phones.
They work like a well-oiled machine back there in the kitchen.
All I do is throw pizzas out and then I throw it over to them Fo r new customers trying to sell for the first time, I think to find a very inviting environment when you come in the door.
We try to greet you at the counter.
When you come in, we give yo I think the environment in here, we alway Now, as far as the golf goes, if you're a golfer, you bring your own clubs, we leave you alone.
If you need something, you just let us know not working right or a ball wet But for the most part, we just we get you in here.
We try to treat you like family and then give you the best quality pizza we can give.
